After visiting with thousands of smart, educated and talented authors and speakers, we recognized three areas these individuals needed help. For years we had been traveling to New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and other locations along the East Coast for our own paid speaking engagements. When we attended author/speaker conferences, we were repeatedly asked, “How do you get paid to speak?”, “How do you sell your books in bulk?”, and “Where do you find your leads?” These entrepreneurs from around the world were authors, speakers, trainers, and had online programs in their various areas of expertise. These brilliant individuals needed help with Mindset, Marketing, and Monetization.
When Cheryl and I finished our book, The Samson Effect, the first thing we did was hire a coaching company. We were determined to create a successful speaking business and we knew we needed help. This coaching program was NOT cheap and we did not have the money at the time, but we found a way to pay for the program and we became great students. After a year of coaching, we entered an international contest for authors and speakers. In that year, we applied small simple steps on a regular basis and had seen the results. We spoke hundreds of times for various events with fees as high as $20,000 for a keynote presentation. We’d sold thousands of books, branched out into workshops, and landed ongoing training contracts over $100,000. All of our hard work paid off and we WON the contest. We cracked the code and built a very successful speaking business.
Most of the other individuals we met within the coaching program lacked direction and had no idea how to build a business around their book or passion. We have found this to be true of most authors and speakers we’ve met. Creating a successful
author/speaker business requires MINDSET, MARKETING, and MONETIZATION.”
